Pet Of The Week

About POTW

Pet of the Week was an original idea I had to inform people about the current animals that lived at shelters. At first, I wanted to feature one animal from each shelter I visited. From the original idea, it has flowered into a unique showcase of a shelter animal's life.

Current POTW Overview

When I chose a shelter I was going to volunteer at, I quickly revised my overall POTW idea. It developed into a way for people to learn about the history and disabilities that my showcase animals faced, and the issues that animals can have before getting rescued. Each week my goal is to inform project followers about a new pet from my volunteer shelter, Gregory's Gift of Hope.

Aimsley's Story

AImsely came to Gregor's Gift of Hope as a baby kitten found with his brother and his mother by a nice woman in Scandia, MN. This woman knew these cats needed help right away s she contacted Gregory's to see if we could take the babies. They were brought to Gregory's on 8/21/23 in rough shape because the mother was no longer taking care of them. Aimsley's brother, Andy, was in worse shape when arriving and passed on the evening of 8/22/23 even with life-saving measures. Aimsely was still ill for the following month until November of 2023 around thanksgiving, when Gregory's received a thankful blessing of Aimsley's health making a full turn around.

Ash's Story

Ash was found wandering in a colony of cats but was thought to originally have been an indoor cat, and dumped in the area intentionally. He is very sweet and extremely friendly, unlike the classical traits of colony cats. he had a few bit and scuff marks on him when he originally came to Gregory's including an injury to one of his eyes, making him blind, and a missing portion of his ear. Due to these injuries, it was important to get him inside. Ash came to Gregory's on 10/28/23 and has now found his forever home with a loving family.
